Just Cruizing Down Hoffman RoadA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaJust cruising down Hoffman Road back in 1956 Up around the bend where the horses run free Sally & me, jamming to the new rock n roll music There by the river we'll park until way after dark
Cruising down Hoffman Road back in 1976 Rhonda & me, just passed the new city dump Up around the bend, where horses once ran free I'll be sitting down by the river, Rhonda & me Sitting in the back seat of my 57 Chevy, making whoopee I & she together just jamming to the oldies but goodies Not a care in the world, just her & me until way after dark Gas tank is as full as the moon, down on Hoffman Road tonight
Dolly & me, just cruising down Hoffman Road back in 1996 On my Harley Davidson, just her & me as free as the wind Where horses once ran free, we'll be snuggled together Near the river, by a forest of trees, Dolly & me & the moon
Haven't cruised down old Hoffman Road in quite a while Old Harley is in the garage just waiting for me to hop on Fill up her tank, rev her up, tonight while the moon is bright Flirt with my lady tonight, though she's as rusty as she can be My old Harley & me, where horses once ran free A turn of the century affair, as we cruise down old Hoffman Road Near the river, by a forest of trees, just old Harley & me
Road up ahead, wind in my hair, not a care in the world Open fields & forests await us where horses once ran free As me & old Harley go for a spin just cruising... Down old Hoffman Road © 2010 Deborah Leah Krempa |
