In The Alley Out Back

In The Alley Out Back

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

In the alley out back there hangs a sign

No trespassing here

The old alley is closed off to the public, is privately owned

Haven for drunkards & druggies, no more

Embarrassing moments I do recall

An old lovers lane once upon a time

Love making between you & me, back in the hippy days

Love making & fighting, breaking up & making up

Embarrassing moments I do recall

You & me in the alley out back

Oldies but goodies played on the eight trak playing our favorite tunes

Under summer skies so blue, as we use to watch the stars & the moon

The old alley out back was the place to be when we were young & carefree

By the time we were married & raising our family

An escape for us was the alley out back, making love like we use to do

Catching glimpses now & then in the rear view, not to get caught by kids

Kissing & smooching & making out in the alley out back
