You And Me And An Old Porch SwingA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaYou and me & an old porch swing Oh how sweetly the birds they do sing Up in the sky, watching the clouds float by
An old porch swing hanging from a crickety old porch Not a care in the world as our new love lights a torch Darlin, you & I will be dancing tonight in the moonlight
My love is true Exclusively for you
As it will be just the two of us, sharing kisses in the twilight Neath the stars up above us, won't that be such a delight? Darlin, you & I will be romancing tonight, a mood so right
As the night owls awaken & hoot, hugging you is so cute Night time as fireflies dance, our love shall surely enhance
On this old porch swing we'll hold hands & talk for hours Like lovers from long ago, please remember to bring me flowers Darlin, you & I will be dancing and romancing tonight
Playing softly on the stereo, music for lovers in the background Old porch swinging to & fro, round & round, to & fro Reach out & touch my heart, promise me we'll never be apart Chirping like lovebirds, whispering sweet nothings with words Heart sharing secrets & dreams, such precious things
Swinging until nearly dawn, as we cuddle in each other's arms When we turn in for the night, the setting will be so right I'll fall into your arms so completely, kissing you sweetly Nothing but dancing & romancing for us in the twilight Going to tell the night owls to close their eyes, tonight © 2010 Deborah Leah Krempa |
