It Hit Me Like A Brick Wall

It Hit Me Like A Brick Wall

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

It hit me like a brick wall

The day that you did not call

Hearing your words of goodbye

I did break down & man did I cry

Tears ran down my face like a river going dry

My heartbeat throbbed so fast, deep in my throat was a lump

Email from you said we were through, now I think you're a chump

Lies, lies and more lies, weak alibis

It hit me like a brick wall

Keep telling myself I can do so much better than you

Email from you said we were through, I think you are a fool, not cool

A ton of bricks smashed my world apart, when you broke my heart

Baby, you lied when you said you found her & meet me in your dreams

Really baby, you lied to me & to yourself, placed me upon a shelf

It hit me like a brick wall

Call me baby, you said you would if I took your test, I gave it my best shot

Keep tellingn myself you put me on the spot & left me to rot

Well, it hit me like a brick wall, when you never did call

An email I sent to repent, wasted ink, as you emailed me back a goodbye

Like I am sure you knew, I would break down & cry over you

Like it hit me like a brick wall, as I fell in & out of love with you, a fool
