You Undressed Me With Those Emerald Eyes

You Undressed Me With Those Emerald Eyes

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

You undressed me with those emerald eyes

Off guard you caught me the very first time we met

Up & down my back, chills tingled my spine

Unusally tall you stood, in my eyes, as I looked up to you

Now, I realize you weren't really quite that tall

Darlin, you had me from our very first hello

Reeling in love at first glance, when you sang "The Dance"

Evenings spent with you were quite an adventure

Snuggled up in your big strong arms is where I loved to be

Smiling at me with those beautiful emerald eyes

Enchanted was I by your kiss, something I never wanted to miss

Darlin, you had a way of sweeping me off of my feet

My knees would go weak whenever I saw you

Everything spun, on the spur of the moment, as I fell for you

We held each deep into the night, it felt so right

I never told you that I loved you, but I did

This is me, being as honest as one can be

Honestly, you had me under your spell

The thought of you leaving left my heart bleeding

Heartbroken and blue you left me yearning for you

Oh, I know I never told you how I felt, I thought you already knew

Sending you notes and love letters like I use to do

Expressing my dealings with life and my feelings for you

Each time I heard you sing, I wanted to hear more

My senses reeling as I was so enchanted by your voice

Each & every night as I put you up for songs at karaoke

Recalling how you said I had you singing songs you never tried before

An aura of light between you and I seemed to exist

Lighting off sparks in my eyes whenever you walked by

Daytime, I wish I could have spent with you, know you better

Everytime I think about you now, I just want to cry, because

You said goodbye when you placed me upon a shelf in your mind

Emerald eyes that once held me in your dreams

Soul mate is what you mean to me
