So Indiscreetly As We Said Hello

So Indiscreetly As We Said Hello

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

So indiscreetly as we said hello

On many a moonlit night

I stood a little taller as I looked up to you

Never could take my eyes away from yours

Darlin, you kissed me on New Year's Eve

I was enchanted by those emerald eyes

So much like heavenly bliss was your sweet kiss

Can't get over the way I got hung up on you

Emerald eyes that told no lies

Emerald eyes that gave no alibis

Those damned emerald eyes

Loved you from first glance, but babe

You never gave me a fair chance to prove it

Always indiscreetly as we said hello

So much I am missing you each and every blue moon

Well, you go your way and I will go mine

Ever so often, you will cross my mind, affectionately

Since you said goodbye, I've cried many tears

Always remembering how I searched for your for so many years

I just didn't know you well enough, I guess

Determined to love you, you put me to the test

Honestly, you left me so sad and utterly blue

Ever so often, I still dream about you and me

Leaves me with tears as big as raindrops in my eyes

Letting you go is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do

Oh babe, I sure miss chatting with you
