A Pair Of Lamps And A Hope Chest

A Pair Of Lamps And A Hope Chest

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

A pair of lamps & a hope chest

Pretty Native American scene on the lampshades

A pair of lamps and a manic dream

I was daydreaming about you and I being together

Really beautiful pair, as we'd set one on each side of our bed

Oh, what a lovely scenery, of a snow-capped mountain

Fir and pine trees, & yellow & green tall grasses growing wild

Lady of American Indian decent sitting quietly in the grass in waiting

A beautiful woman, with long dark flowing hair & a wolf by her side

My manic mind filled with such romantic thoughts of us

Perfect matched pair of lamps to start a hope chest

So adorable are they...

As she & the wolf sit peacefully together enjoying the sunshine

No one would think that I would find such a pretty pair of lamps

Down the street from my church at a yardsale, for just ten dollars

As they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure

Hoping in my heart that one day, you might send for me

Oh, how esctatic I would be, if you only loved me that much

Perhaps, you might remember my last kiss, upon your sweet lips

Electric touch lamps, these lamps represent my hopes and my dreams

Chest full of hope that one day you will be mine

Holding on to dreams that we are together, my hand in yours

Every now and then I have these silly ideas about us

Sunrise to sunset, I think of you, as I am not quite over you yet

These two lamps should stay a pair, as my losing you just isn't fair
