The Moon

The Moon

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

A red full moon rose on a hot August evening

Old lovers become friends on a half moon

Virgo and Aquarius

I watched the sky as the crecent moon soon appeared

Turning into a black midnight sky birthing a new moon

Filled with a multitude of stars and constellations

Big dipper was there and the belt of orion

As I stood in awe my universe

The four winds were swirling the clouds all week

Near bermuda they say a hurricane is brewing

Darkest of rain clouds it seemed as if storms may be gathering

The more I watched the sky

The softest of white clouds formed

Some were ribbed across the bright blue sky at day

Soon their fluff took to shapes

That old and young alike dream on

As these winds became circular in motion

Yellow sunrise in the east

Orange sunset in the west

I sat on my old back porch

As my brother raven took to flight in early morning light

Watched my brother bald eagle travel this same path

Just yesterday as he flew over my house

He is my protector

He is my spiritual guide

He is awesome in flight

Soon the new cresent moon shall appear

Until it becomes half moon time all over again

A sacred time

In tune with mother earth

Sister moon she watches over us

She moves us and her spirit shines through us

When she is wrapped in the shadow of mother earth

Bring forth a new full moon in all her glory

A gravitational pulling of two hearts

Whereas two beome as one

A free spirit

Beautiful work of mysticism. The Virgo-Aquarius Moon, denotes even tempered, clear and intelligent. As you are also cool, perceptive and imaginative, also a tell it like it is type. Could this also be your birth-sign?
The four winds, like the four corners of the earth. You guardian and familiars are both strong and true of character. The visualization you use in this writing allows the reader to sit with you on the porch and view these same things as they occcur. Many look askance at the ability to see through nature the forces that may be brewing and affecting our lifes. God endows us of all things with admonition on how to use it. If not used it is lost. You have retained the knowledge of the elders. Wonderfully spirtual writing of the universes guidance and care. The answer lies within the soothsayer, you.

I like the shamanic indigenous spirit of this poem. An enthralling reminder to commune with the spirit-beings of earth and air and water and fire.

Interesting sense of astro-coordinates early on, too.

Striking and fresh.

This is such a beautiful spiritual expression... "A sacred time," as you say. Too many times we miss just being... looking out at the earth and the wondrous world around us... You bring about a depth of feeling in this writing that is profound and peaceful...
