The Rez

The Rez

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Will you take me to the rez?

Take me home where I belong

Where my grandfather's spirit resides

Let me spread my son's ashes

Give them back to mother earth

Set him free to soar

With the american bald eagle

So his spirit

Can dance among the stars

Will you take me there?

I have lost a child and understand a little of what you may be feeling. I catch myself always looking down the road or expect them to show up and everything is all back to normal. Sometimes I feel like screaming out loud and say why? Time will ease your pain I have heard but it will never take away the heart-ache. I pray that the Creator takes pity upon you and your family and soon you will feel like living and enjoying Creation as we were intended!
