Old Friends, Book EndsA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaOld friends, bookends
Been a long time
Since we hung around together
Many years have gone by
As we went our separate ways
Life gets busy sometimes
Things get in the way
We get caught up in our own lives
Memories we made
Some made us laugh
Some made us cry
Old friends, book ends
I remember a time
We thought we'd always be
The best of friends
Sad to say it doesn't always
Turn out the way we planned
Before you know it
The years pass us by
As we become
Just a memory now and then
Old friends, book ends
