N ot just outward appearance but the inner loveliness that is you

A  gentle touch here and there

 

M aybe just a dab of the color gold to highlight your eyes and hair

U ncloaking the revealing side of you in a painted portraiture

R ouge upon your cheeks and lips so luscious as strawberries

A  mural I shall paint of you upon a graffito wall

L eaving my signature there

 

O ften a passerby will stop and stare with

F ond admirations of passion and desire

 

Y our painted image leaving an affectionate imprint

O n their minds as they stroll by

U nveiling the uniqueness that is you

O Delileah, it is nice to talk with you again. This is both a clever and lovely poem, and, as a mural painter myself, I can relate to it. It is SO filled with longing that I feel for you - is it longing for someone lost or longing for your inner ideal? I cannot tell, but I feel the colour of your longing that wants to show everyone in the world your love.
