My Darkest Night

My Darkest Night

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

M y darkest night

Y our light ceased to shine

D eath came knocking upon our door

A  crimson teardrop fell down my cheek as I

R eached out in vain to believe it wasn't so

K issed your cold dead lips to mine so softly

E vening shadows hovered over me on this dreadful dreary night

S eeing you laying there so still in that eerie black coffin

T o my dismay...

N o one to comfort me in my grief

I  walked slowly and so somberly in the funeral procession

G ruesome thoughts about your untimely demise haunting me, dark clouds

H overed over me, as the cemetery keeper placed you into your barren grave

T his is my darkest night
