Michael Jackson (a tribute)

Michael Jackson (a tribute)

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

M ichael

I  never followed your career.

C an't say I was a true fan but I listened to your music now and then.

H ow do I write a fitting tribute to the king of pop?

A  sad day it was when you died so suddenly, so tragically.

E verywhere around the world, people mourned for you.

L it candles in memory of an icon.

J ust a little kid when you started out.

A beautiful voice you gave to the world.

C horeography that only you could teach.

K eep singing and dancing Michael, on your journey to the stars.

S oft spoken gentle creature that you were.

O h, what a friend we had in you.

N ow may we let you rest in peace.

Dear debileah,

Michael Jackson was a super-talent, but a deeply troubled individual. I fear he didn't have the strength of character to weather his fame and the unlimited possibilities that this brought. It was rather a tragic life. I'm sure he knew happiness through some of this life and successes, but for the most part I think he was a deeply sad individual.

I did not follow the funeral at all. I was not surprised to have heard of his death. Such a tragic end, however, at such a relatively young age.

The end of an era and dynasty.

Best regards,

Rick

I agree that Michael Jackson was a super star and very talented, and in more ways than one was as was put a deeply troubled individual. And as was stated below, his short life was slightly a tragic existence. I'm sure for the most part that he was a deeply sad and often lonely individual seeking himself from himself. Jan

A very nice tribute, especially since you never followed his career. I can remember seeing Michael Jackson on TV when he was only a small child. Then there came the time my children thought he was the greatest entertainer. But, like many famous people who grew up in show business, he was surrounded by both adoring fans, and controversy. He always struck me as being a sad, almost lost young man even though he was energetic and impressive on stage. Regardless of all the good and bad press he received in life, I hope that he is at peace now and I pray that his family will be comforted.

Unlike you I was a HUGE MJ fan. I remember being online when the rumour started, then read the words that he was dead. I cried so hard that night, but like you, I didn't really know him, but felt that he had been a huge part of my life. He was an angel and a gift to this world and unfortunately never, will we see the likes of him again.

Thank you for sharing this with me. x
