Torn Between Two Lovers

Torn Between Two Lovers

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

T orn between two lovers

O ldies but goodies playing on the radio

R eminding me of a time in my life

N ot so long ago

B eing so attached to one and falling in love with another

E nding up alone, sad and confused

T orn between two lovers is such a melancholy tune

W ishing I was dancing with him while I found myself

E mbracing you instead upon that old ballroom floor

E veryone had their eyes on us as we seemed to be the perfect pair

N o one ever noticed that my heart just wasn't there

T orn between two lovers is a lonely place to be

W hen your making love with one and dreaming of the other

O nly causes heartache in the end

L over's from the very first start, when we should have stayed just friends

O ut on the rebound is where I found myself the day that I met you

V ulnerable from the very beginning I never meant to break your heart, but

E verytime he looks at me I find myself looking back at him

R ealizing that I have become torn between two lovers

S adly so...

So beautifully bittersweet. Your words are powerful visual, one can see the story unfolding, the pain, the choices... This is just an amazing, emotional write...
