Come April

Come April

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Dear Bobby

My darling son

I can hardly believe

It will be two years

Since you've been gone

Come April

I am still feeling numb

To the pain

Of losing you

Come April

You know honey

Just the other night

A few tears finally fell

Ran down my cheek

They were warm and wet

Filled with regret

As I tried so hard to forget

The loneliness

The sadness

The sorrow

Remembering your funeral

Seeing you laying there

So still and lifeless

Touching you

Feeling the coldness

Of death

On my lips

As I kissed your forehead

I love you

I miss you

I need you

As April needs rain

The pain never leaves, and we all feel it deeply in this work. Well done.

This is a well-written expression of grief and loss, which is a particularly difficult subject to do well. Thanks for sharing this very personal poem.

Very very said. It is a very nicely written poem about the love and
loss you feel for your son. It made me want to cry.
