Dancing With Writer's BlockA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaD ancing with writer's block A waltz now and then N o words C ome to me as my mind becomes blank I t's like trying to penetrate a brick wall N eed a vacation to remedy this situation G entle strokes of my pen begin to scribble in syllables and sounds
W atching the clock on my desk as I wrestle with ideas in my head I feel as though I will never write again as I sit here in my easy chair T alking to myself wondering why it seems so important to me H oping to find my voice from within as I listen to the stillness around me
W riter's block makes me feel like I am literally suffocating R ealizing this I search for a magic key-word to unlock the mystery I t comes in the form of an acrostic artistry as I write this poem T hus, a new creation of words are formed as I wholeheartedly try E xplaining to you my dear reader what writer's block is like to me R eleasing the frustrations of a poet who has lost contact with words 's eems to be quite absurd
B reaking the ice so to speak is what one must do L eaving me at my wits end as I so desperately search the abyss O f mine own creativity with C ountless hours spent dancing with writer's block K eeping in mind that this too shall pass © 2009 Deborah Leah Krempa |
