Being different has become so popular, it seems everyone's doing it anymore.

Individualists unite, I say.

In this poem, you offer two very different messages.

1) Inspire me to be different
2) Inspire me to be myself

Firstly, to be different means to be contrary. To look out on the landscape, see what others are doing and decide to do the opposite. The male teen wears this well, the James Dean character. "What are you against?" he's asked.

"What do you have?"

Now, to be individualized is to make choices because the choices are correct, regardless of what anyone else is doing.

Thus, we could say the choice of a cheeseburger for dinner could be made by either. It comes down to why we choose a cheeseburger.

Better than most other poems that I read in this form. I am not familiar with its technical term.

Rather than inspire you to BE different, I would enlighten you that you ARE different...but then, I am a philosopher. When one finds one's true self, one may no longer need enlightenment but one always craves inspiration because inspiration is divine, the task then is to enlighten you that you are part of the divine and the divine is part of you. I like your poem though.
