A Pillar Of Salt

A Pillar Of Salt

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

A Pillar Of Salt

A  wretched soul looks back

P illar of salt

I mage of me

L ooking back to the past

L ingering there where I should not be

A mputating the life I lead today

R eading too much into it all and over analyzing what happened to me

O h woe is me

F ading into misery

S alty tears of bygone years

A  wretched soul looks back

L ost and forlorn

T ime to reflect on the story of Lot's wife

This is one of those very powerful messages that might omce across better in the standard form rather than in the acrostic. The flow was not as good as your other works, but the actual structure, feelings and intent comes through very well. Nice job!

very well done-i love it even with my lack of knowledge of the bible-
my favorite lines are "lingering where i should not be and amputating the life i lead today" it's good!!

We all have done things that don't look so good in the rear-view mirror. It's best to look forward.

I love this!
The structure is amazing, the message is truly powerful and I admire the way you captured such raw emotion and also painted a vast picture with few words.
The poem maintained its strength from the start to finish, I really enjoyed reading...
Excellent write.

Bravo!
