At The Hop!

At The Hop!

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

At the hop

The music is nonstop

Love that curb side service

The gals on rollerskates

57 Chevy's and shiny Cadillac's

Ice-cream and soda pop

Cars cruizin in and out

Of a paved parking lot

Meeting Betty Lou and Peggy Sue

When the oldies but goodies were brand new

Drinks were just a dime

We all had a real good time

At the hop

Where the music played

Our favorite tunes

Nonstop

Loved that curb side service

The gals on rollerskates

Cokes and milkshakes

At the hop

Those certainly were some fun times. We still have the Sonic Drive-ins here, but somehow its not the same.
