The Day The Music Died

The Day The Music Died

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

The Day The Music Died

T ears fell like rain the day the music died

H olding a broken-hearted violin by her side

E vening caresses the sun

D ark clouds gathering

A s the ravens soars on high in the night sky

Y oung maiden she sings no more

T he rains came down and left her crying

H er lover crossed over to the other side

E very dream she ever had now crushed

M usic once filled the air that she breathed

U ntil the day came that the music died

S he mourns

I n silence

C aptured by the moment

D esolate

I solated

E nraged

D esperate the day the music died

Hi my friend, I enjoyed this very much. I loved the way thie piece brought me into it and made me feel sad. I can't imagine a life without music and colors. The image that caught my attention was when she stood their with the "violin by her side". How sad and dark life would be if music wasn't their to fill the gaps and lift us all from the darkest caverns that our realities place us in. I enjoyed this.

What terriffic imagery of longing. Painfully constructed, the emotions pour from this piece. Another well written acrostic.

One exquisite work, very sad and lonely but captured as only one who has suffered loss can do. Well done, and thank you for sharing!

Sad, lonely, and quite beautiful. The accompanying picture is fantastic, too.

oh thats so nice..the day music died
she kept the violin by her side
until came the rain and with it tears fell her face
for love is gone..and dreams crushed
and music ..once filled the air
now the music has died..
so full of romance ..and passion
how lovely everything here
i really loved this..
wonderful write
