Two Rocking Chairs

Two Rocking Chairs

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Two Rocking Chairs

T wo rocking chairs sitting side by side

W ishing you were here to share Christmas with me

O pening presents beneath a lovely pine tree

R ed and green decorations and sparkling lights all aglow

O n this cold winter's night just you and me

C omfy and cozy as a couple can be

K isses shared under the mistletoe

I  wonder do you miss me sometimes

N ot near as much as I miss you

G oing to be so lonely with an empty chair sitting there

C hristmas without you makes me cry

H olding you in my arms is what I want most of all

A n old fashioned Christmas I'd love to share with you

I  close my eyes and I dream of how wonderful it could be

R ed and green decorations and sparkling lights all aglow

S pending Christmas with you just because I love you so

You make it look so easy. Very poignant lines. Beautiful and sad. Rain..

An acrostic of holiday warmth. Very nice.

Now that was a very good Acrostic

I like this. With the symbolism of two rocking chairs, you deliver both an underlying sadness and a yearning for the comfort of the past. I am very impressed, Debileah! Excellent work!
