Mrs. Harroun

Mrs. Harroun

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

M rs. Harroun was a lovely elderly lady who happened to be blind

R emembering how she crocheted such beautiful doilies with threads and yarns

S ometimes as a child I would forget that she could not see like you and me

H er home she kept as neat and tidy as a house could be

A kind natured woman who taught me many things

R emembering how I use to love to draw pictures for her

R emembering how she would trace the images with her fingertips

O h so gently, then she would tell me what a wonderful artist I was

U sing her hands she could see everything through her unique sense of touch

N ever shall I ever forget my dear friend, Mrs. Harroun
