Dust On The Bible

Dust On The Bible

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

There is dust on the cover of the bible

The only book I haven't read in quite a while

The one book that can truly paint a picture with words

I have no alibi as for the reason I haven't read it lately

My life has been hell and I've been going through too much

Beautiful passages are highlighted in red colored pencil

Property of a motel the night of my honeymoon it was

It's time I sprayed it with a bit of Endust to make it shine

Time to pick up that book and read it once again

For time is of the essence and time you cannot borrow

I love your poem! If you are entering it in the Tovli 10/40 contest, it can only be 40 words long. Maybe you're just posting it?
