Survivor!

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

(Words to a song I wrote)

"

Why should I stay with a man

Who takes his hands

And turns them into fists

In my face

Cause this temple of God

So they say

Such disgrace

Well I ran with him

And I was tempted

By his heroin

And I was tempted

By Crack

Where there'd be no

Turning Back

But I chose not

To do as he did

I got out

And I

I ran with my life

No longer his wife

So learn a lesson

From me

Girl

If this happens to you

Get out

And run with your life

I did and so can you

You don't have to stay

With a man

Who takes his hands

And turns them into fists

In your face

Cause the temple

Of God

So they say

Such disgrace

Flowing and smooth. You can really sense the feelings behind this one, and I could heard the song quality of it even in my mind. Beautiful. :)

Writing is one of the most theraputic ways to let your emotions flow. This poem is raw and real. Thank you for sharing.

Just loved how the beginning and the end of this piece flowed into each other so perfectly, putting even more emphasis on the horrifying reality of abuse and being abused.

Great work my friend, I know this had to be a difficult write for you, but you penned it beautifully !

A tough and righteous write. Obviously a true experience in your life. I hope it brings you some solace to share these difficult times and words. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. A very important lesson here.
Love and Light,
Siddartha
