Survivor!

Survivor!

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

(Words to a song I wrote)

"

Why should I stay with a man

Who takes his hands

And turns them into fists

In my face

Cause this temple of God

So they say

Such disgrace

Well I ran with him

And I was tempted

By his heroin

And I was tempted

By Crack

Where there'd be no

Turning Back

But I chose not

To do as he did

I got out

And I

I ran with my life

No longer his wife

So learn a lesson

From me

Girl

If this happens to you

Get out

And run with your life

I did and so can you

You don't have to stay

With a man

Who takes his hands

And turns them into fists

In your face

Cause the temple

Of God

So they say

Such disgrace

This I'm sure would be so powerful sung with music because it's so powerful as is. Great depth of feeling.

I got out
And I
I ran with my life

My fav lines. Do you sing and play?

There is no excuse for physical abuse other then control and that is not love... and that is something no one needs to endure... Bravo my friend.

Wonderfully written ... I only wish more women would do the same ... No one should suffer from any kind of abuse ... Powerful poem with great messages ... hugs

I love how this begins with what he is so clearly stated and your choice flowering into action. To use what you chose and show yourself the survivor who now says yes you can too and here is why with the same depiction of what you are escaping in the end is very good. I hopethose that can do leave and those that don't have the means to find them in time. Blessings to you for your message.

I wish more women would do what you did, and not stay in abusive, destructive relationships.
