Just One More For The RoadA Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
Just one more for the road
J ust one more for the road as it's just the two of U s now my bottle and me sitting here by the sea S ure I could put you down if I really wanted to T he problem is me and no one can save me but myself
O ver and over again I come to talk with you my friend N o one else understands me the way you do E veryone always leaves me but never you
M y hands tremble as I put the bottle to my lips O ver and over again I come to talk with you my friend R eally don't know why maybe I like the taste E veryone always leaves me but never you
F or old times sake I'll have just one more for the road O ut of my mind sometimes you drive me out of my mind R emembering the past and I seem to dwell there quite often
T he only one that understands me is you and you destroy me H eaven knows if I shall ever put you down and toss you away E verybody leaves me but never you
R ecovery is a road I am so afraid to travel for fear of being alone O kay so it's just my bottle and me sitting here by the sea A nd I'm sailing with her as she devastates me as I become as D runk a man can be after all it's just one more for the road © 2008 Deborah Leah KrempaReviews
