There's No Place Like Home

There's No Place Like Home

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Home is where you'll find me most times

There's no place that I'd rather be

That is quite so comforting

Home is where my family lives

The place I feel most welcome

A touch of southern hospitality

For me there's no place like home

It's the city so familiar

The place I grew up

The place I got married

The place I had my kids

The place I always come back to

Home is where my heart belongs

The place where bonds are strong

For me there's no place like home

Ah home. When I think of being home, I think of being with my family; fighting, loving and laughing and so many other things that only time can erase as my memory fades with the years. You know, that is one thing I'm afraid of, is forgetting the people that I have lost or the wonderful times that I've shared with others that have moved or God has taken from me. Home is where those things reside; where the memories hang themselves upon the walls with photographed smiles and so forth. This poem made me sad a bit.
