Come, Great Warriors!

Come, Great Warriors!

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

(let us know peace)

"

Come all great warriors

Let us make camp tonight

Bring our women and our children together in harmony

Let us be at peace this evening, may we rejoice in one another's company

We shall dance, sing and tell the stories of ancient times

Bring back the tales of our ancestors, pass them down to the generations

Keep warm by the campfires and rest in our teepees

Enjoy the smells and the aromas of cedar, sweet grass and sage

Give our horses green pastures to roam as the buffalo once did

Give thanks to our Creator for all that he has given us

Come all great warriors

Let us make camp tonight

Bring our women and our children together in harmony

Let us be at peace this evening, may we rejoice in one another's company

This is great Deb, I wish we could all live as the American Indian people do, their ways are so family oriented and they have such respect for mother earth and all animal and plant life...Loved it ...
Congrats on a fine piece of writing...

You beckon a peaceful time gone. You call for the creator to bring back a time when life was easier and free.

Lovely write and feel that comes with these words.

War and peace are two sides of the same coin. More is one with war, more is the desire to yearn for the other.

A nice thought, well expressed.

I love writing that brings the depth and warmth of tradition to life so all can see the magic of it. Especially a spiritual rejuvination such as the native american camp fire gatherings. Great piece.

This is poetry that chases after my heart. I felt very in touch with this and I am so glad you recommended it to me. The imagery in my mind was very much as I had envisioned when I wrote "Spirits of the Anasazi". I often long for the moments you describe here - these times of ancient introspect. Wonderfully written. It is a piece that I will admire.

Love this. Very clear, rather moving as well!

This creates a very beautiful image - both the poem and the picture together. It makes me want to wrap up in a blanket and sit by a fire - even though it's 90 degrees outside.

Well done.

The poem, along with the beautiful picture, create a warm and inviting image. I would like to join them at their fire.
