Auntie Florence

Auntie Florence

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

she wore a pink dress with white tatted lace

golden tresses surrounded her oval face

auntie florence I shall miss you often

As I place a pink carnation atop of your coffin

Surrounded by lilacs your favorite flowers

I 'll always remember our chatting for hours

Going to miss you auntie florence it's true

Without you in it my world is so terribly blue

As these churchbells do chime

I promise to remember the good times

The way you loved flowers in the spring

The way you loved the song of the birds as they sing

So many wonderful stories you told

I shall treaure as I grow old

Thank you auntie florence for being my friend

Until the very end...
