A red rose on a white piano

 

R aul placed the lovely red rose

E ver so lightly atop of the white piano for

D ebileah as she slept

 

R aul softly played his spanish guitar

O n the swingset as he serenaded me

S weet smelling was the rose he gave

E vening came and he lit a campfire

 

O ur love for each other and our friendship grew

N ights we shared with song and dance

 

A beautiful romance

 

W ith loving arms he embraced me

H e was a gentle lover

I  shall always cherish the memories we made

T he red rose I placed in my bible to safe-keeping

E mbers from the fire kept us warm during the evenings

 

P oetry written of our moment in time

I  write with fond recollections
