Back In The Good Old Days

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

B ack in the good old days

A trip down memory lane

C amping in the backyard

K eepsakes and treasures

I remember the good old days

N ostalgic dreams I hold so dear

T en cents for a bottle of pop

H arley Davidson motorcycles

E verybody met at the Drive-In

G host stories and sleep overs

O ld records we played

O n the jukebox, 3 songs for a quarter

D ining at the soda shop on the corner

O h how I miss the good old days

L ife was so much simpler then

D ays of wine and roses

D ime Store shopping sprees

A warm summer breeze

Y ou and me together

S haring sweet memories

Oh, the good old days, when life was simple and easy.

The good old days were great but we do unfortunately have to move on
At least that's what I keep telling myself
Wonderfully written as always

AAAHHHH! Sorry, but the wonderfulness is just too much. I'm supposed to be working but I can't because you completely captivate me with your words. This is absolutely beautiful. I may only be 22, but I also miss the good old days....

Another excellent acrostic. You have a way of making the reader really think with them and give them excellent flow. I would remove the spaces between the acrostic and the remainder of the line. People will figure it out and it is a nice surprise when they do. The spaces just hand it to them.

Something you can think on a bit. See if you like this:

Old records we played
On old jukeboxes, 3 songs for a quarter

I was thinking by repeating "old' it ties the lines together nicely. Just an idea, it really does work well the way you have it.
