Shattered Crystal

Shattered Crystal

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

S hattered crystal vase thrown against the fireplace

H as fallen down to the floor

A thousand pieces broken just like my heart

T attered and torn

T orn apart

E ventually I

R eached down

D own, to pick myself up once again

C rystal vase thrown against the fireplace

R eminding me of the bruises

Y ou left on my face

S cars they hide inside my mind

T elling tales of secrets behind closed doors

A crystal vase fell to the floor

L ike when you raised your fist to me

Sad and deep. I find the imagery and choice of words compelling.

This reminds me of one of my poems:

Trust is like crystal
Once shattered by emotions
Hard to repair it

Besides the sick and tragic reason why you had to get this out into a poem form...I like the structure. I am sorry once again you have to write like this but I am happy for you and have hope for you because indeed you DO write which creates an avenue to release the pain held tightly inside

Wow, I have never read an acrostic with such a serious theme behind it. You have done a wonderful job with it. I am going to have to reread this several times I think, the depth is bubbling to get out. Wonderful use of metaphor.
