Love MomA Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa(my son was killed by a drunk driver/please don't drink and drive)it's a quarter past midnight the date is july 31st it's your birthday you would be 35 if you were still alive my heart is heavy laden tonight as i write so i guess i shall remonise you born at 5:10am i remember the night was hot as i lay awake tossing and turning trying to sleep but my back kept aching about 2am the pains came it felt as though my lower spine was breaking the pains they came in rushes i was staying at my aunt and uncle's house the day you made your arrival they rushed me to the hospital just in time my uncle was running redlights i kept saying "hurry, please hurry!" uncle said "i'm driving as fast as i can!" i was an unwed mother at the time you were my first born child my son the nurse she was not very kind to me she left me to fend for myself when i needed her most but the doctor he was a nice man funny, i wanted him there to hold my hand but he said " i have to deliver your baby" with a smile upon his face then you were born a perfect little boy with all of your fingers and toes intact blue eyes and a cute little pug nose they cleaned you off and wrapped you in a blanket and placed you ever so gently into my waiting arms i've always loved you and i always will even unto the end of time "happy birthday sweetheart, love mom" © 2008 Deborah Leah Krempa
