It's 2am

It's 2am

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

(a bit of writer's block)

"

it gets lonely

not having someone

to talk to

to hold you close

to share your joys

and your sorrows

it gets lonely

it's 2am and she

waits for him

he never shows

he probably never will

show up again

then again

you never know

he might surprise her

just one more time

Very sweet, but the loneliness is very apparent. I like the longing feel you develop in this work, it really makes it believable. The simplicity works well for it too - it's not overpowering and it states its emotions in plain language. One spelling error, though: "surprise" is spelled with an "s" not a "z" :-)

Why is it we hope where there would seem to be no hope? I think it is what helps us survive in the worst situations. You have written a very nice piece and so true.
