A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

A n  architect built a

B eautiful elaborate

C astle a top of a hillside

D reaming of such

E legance he fathomed to believe that his lovely

F ortress held

G hosts from ages past as they teased and

H aunted it's new residents

I for one witnessed such a haunting as I gladly bought the estate

J ust one night under a full moon made me a believer in these creatures

K eeping my distance I

L istened attentively to their clattering and chattering in my bedroom

M y instinct of course was to be scared out of my wits

N one the less I proceeded with caution as I

O pened the trap door that led from the bookcase shelf to the next room

P erhaps they are friendly ghosts if not I am in deep trouble I thought

Q uite sure of myself I called out "Is anyone there?"

R ight then and there I saw a blue mist try to escape

S cared as I was I stood there in awe of my new friend or be it foe

T o my surprize he turned to human form and reached out his hand

U nsure I pulled back and I gasped at what was happening

V ery nice to meet your acquaintance said he

W hy are you so afraid of me I have no vengence toward you

X avior is my name I died here in this exact locale a hundred years ago

Y ou have built your castle atop of my grave and awakened me

Z epher winds blow here upon every full moon and I am set free

Wonderful. You've successfully transformed a beautiful ghost story into your acrostic ABC form. I really, really like it!

Debileah, you are very good at the acrostics. I applaud your awesome efforts here. Keep up the wonderful work. Seeing how well you do these makes me want the challenge myself. I will have to try it. Thank you for sharing, my friend.
