A Yellow Sundress

A Yellow Sundress

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

(for a contest)

"

The outsiders gathered round the train station

Many exchanged titles and handshakes

Talking much about politics and pestilence

When all of a sudden the train came round the bend of the railroad tracks

The smoking locomotive came to a halting stop screeching loudly

As the train whistles blew and the stop lights were flashing

The double engines carried the passenger train with such great power

When the passengers were released all I could notice amidst the crowd

Was my lovely bride to be wearing a yellow sundress and smiling at me

Oh, I really like this one. It is so beautifully written, and the wonderful imagery you used drew me into the story, as if I were there. Excellently penned my friend...Hugz...Jillian
