I'll always remember you

I'll always remember you

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

I'll always remember the aroma

of cedar, sweetgrass and sage

When I think of you

I'll always remember the taste

of frybread and with it

buffalo stew

I'll always remember the touch

of your hand ever so gentle

around my waist

I'll always remember the times

we shared together

at our meeting place

I'll always remember

the eagle as he soared

across the sky

I'll always remember

the swiftness of the deer

as he passed us by

I'll always remember

the sweetness of your kiss

upon my lips

I'll always remember

you in the spring

with the budding of tulips

I'll always remember

you

This is a sweet but sad poem. It really touches me, though, because my best friend will be moving to a different state one year from now, and I will miss her greatly. Thank you for this bittersweet, beautiful piece about friendship, love, and loss.

This is a sweet poem. It reminds me of a "summer of love" type thing. One of those perfect romances that no one can ever truely grasp. We as humans may not be able to accomplish such things, but now we do not need to. This writing does the job perfectly.

Wow, very good work, almost spiritual in nature!

This is lovely. You paint a vivid picture of your companion without ever mentioning physical traits. I can just picture a young Indian brave (just MY mental picture.) Someone else might get an entirely different image, but they will get an image. Beautifully written. :)
