So missing you

So missing you

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

I hold the wallet that I bought

for you last Christmas

It has the photo taken of you

on your driver's license

There's a ticket stub

for a movie

A few phone numbers

I hold this wallet dearly

this gift I gave to you

for I didn't realize

when I picked it out

it would remind me

of you one day

There was a smile

upon your face

the day you opened it

A smile I need to

remember always

my darling son

for your life

was taken away

by a drunk driver

and I am so

missing

you

This is touching.
And if read correctly, makes for a melodious piece.
Great, GREAT job.
Nice poem.

Awwww.. what a sad piece.. I thought at first it was a girl thinking about her ex. But it was a mother.. It makes me sad, but it was beautifully written.
