That cat!

That cat!

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

It was nearly dusk the night that the cat brought him home

He had an injured wing so we put him in a cage

He had red eyes and his fur was gray

His wings were black

He was a bat

All truth be told

He was a vampire

From myths of olde times passed

He bit her and she nearly died

She had such swollen eyes

But then cats have

nine lives

To our surprize

She wasn't smitten

And she purred like a kitten

On her next venture

she did pursue a mouse

and brought it into the house

played with it and then it lay dead

and so she had her dinner

that cat's a winner
