Old Sam

Old Sam

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Old Sam if there's a dog's heaven

I'm sure that you made it there

You look so much like Old Yeller

Whenever I watch that old movie

You know I think of you

I remember how you loved to swim

and run through the woods

Kick me out of bed

whenever you could

You were the king of this castle

my loyal friend

Old Sam if there's a dog's heaven

I'm sure that you made it there

What an awesome tribute to "Old Sam." He sounds like he was a wonderful dog...There are lots of sweethearts like him at the pound. :-) Not a one could probably "replace" him, but I'll bet you could find a close second. Just a thought. Pets are awesome companions...

A sweet dedication to a loyal friend. With all the loyalty, the joy they give , and the affection shared with them, I'm almost certain that there is a heaven for them. Thank you for sharing.
