Just you and I

Just you and I

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

It's been a long time my friend

Since we held hands

And danced by the campfire light

Just you and I

We use to have such fun

Wrapped in a blanket as we'd lie by the fire

Watching the rising of the sun

I always loved the sound of the trains

in the distance

The chirping of the crickets and call of the locust

Snuggled up warmly together

Just you and I

The way you serenaded me with your guitar

The way we made wishes upon the stars

The way we made sweet love

It's been a long time my friend

Since we held hands

And danced by the campfire light

Just you and I
