Letter to a drunk driver

Letter to a drunk driver

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

To the drunk driver who killed my son

You have taken my son's life

so carelessly

When it could have been prevented

and you must pay dearly

with ten years of your life

behind bars sitting in a prison cell

Not a long time considering

what you've taken from me

You've taken my son's life

he was the extention of me

to carry on after I am gone

You took away his present

and his future

and his future generations

the children and grandchildren

he will never have

You have destroyed a beautiful man

and you tore apart a family

ripped out our hearts

as now we are stained with his blood

his life was in your hands

don't you understand that?

and his friend you took her life too

she was a mother and she had a son

and a husband and a family

you carelessly took her life away

now her son is without his mother

a husband without his wife

a mother and father without their child

and another family you destroyed

torn apart at the seams

shattered dreams

Our blood is on your hands

and you are yet a young man yourself

destroyed your own life and that of your family

by the wrecklessness of what you have done

the selfish act of wreckless driving

while under the influence of alcohol and drugs

not relinquishing your keys to a designated driver

or taking the taxi cab that was called for you

there is no excuse that you can give

not to serve your time in prison

No excuse you have none

No remorse you have none

Awwww Deb, I am so sorry for your loss. Ten years is indeed hardly enough for the lives that were taken. Life in prison is what he should have gotten.

The emotions are back with this work and you express this deeply and completely. Well done!

It is a terrible thing. I am sorry you have had to endure this. Through your words others might reconsider their poor decisions in life. My heart goes out to you.

There's not much I can say here. It's a tragedy that no parent should ever have to go through.

With folded arms I hold you
With folded arms I held you
With folded arms
I don't want to let you go
As your friend of words
I want to say
I Love You!

Its hard to find the right words
to say what I want to say

He will be missed
I'm sorry for your loss

This guy and all like him need to be hung
for this saddens me to no end

My wife and I have two sons
Every time I look at them
I will think of your loss

Again, I'm sorry
Wishing I could (((Hug))) you.

This is great way to release the anger that I know you feel. I don't blame you. I can't even imagine, Debileah! I pray the Lord gives you peace in the midst of this awful tragedy. Maybe you will be an activist against drunk drivers in time for MADD. God will bring good out of your tragedy in time. My mother's suicide did. hugs hon, carole
