Flip side of market street

Flip side of market street

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

The flip side of Market Street

Has more of a Christian beat

Just like the folks you meet

I was riding on a bus

Down on Market Street

A boy met a girl down there

She had such angel soft hair

She was lovely as she could be

Pretty as a picture as far

As he could see

Sent shivers up and down his spine

Saying baby will you be mine

The boy on Market Street

He had a dream

She was it, she was such a queen

He saw her walking by the shopping mall

Her hair was long

Her skin was ebony

What a beautiful sight

For his eyes to see

It was in a city that they call Troy

Today he's a man

Not a boy anymore

He plays guitar and he sings

For her on the radio

They been married twenty years or so

He thanks the lord for Market Street
