A painted picture

A painted picture

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

A painted picture is worth more than a thousand words

P ainting

A n image of you with my poetry

I  shall draw a portraiture with flow and rhyme

N ot to make you cry but to lift your spirit and to make you smile

T his is my abstract painting spree

E loquent words for thee

D esire of my heart

P ainting with words of how beautiful you are

I  would write across the sky the words I love you

C olors of paint in swirls and twirls upon my easel

T his poet's brush is dipped in loveliness and written just for you

U pon a starry midnight hour I so paint my masterpiece

R eaching beyond words to magnetic poetry and images

E xpressions of my undying love painted here with words and paint

Being an artist and something of a writer as I am, these words are clear to me. I would certainly loved to have opened an envelope and found that inside. Bravo! Sam

I love this poem. You use such powerful words.. words like "desire," "magnetic," and "undying" really captivate the reader. This poem made me smile. The way you relate words and paints.. wow. You are an artist.. a creator of beautiful poems. Painting and writing poems are not so different, are they? I also love the way you opened the poem with that one single line.. the line "A painted picture is worth more than a thousand words." If a picture is worth a thousand words, and a painted picture is worth MORE than a thousand words.. wow, I love the implications. Excellent work. Keep writing, keep dreaming, and keep loving.
