In the midnight hourA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaI n the darkness of the midnight hour N ot a creature stirred this enchanted night
T he streets were awkwardly quiet H e stood under the old lampost E ntertaining angels and demons all of his own
M adness under a moonlit sky I ntoxicated he seemed to be D runk with wine perhaps N ot your usual wino I was strangely curious G etting closer to the lampost I saw H im dancing with his shadow T he two made the strangest pair
H e never knew I was O ut there watching him dance in U nison R eflections of him still linger in my mind © 2008 Deborah Leah KrempaReviews
