Curiosity

Curiosity

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

I remember as a child

A thirst of curiosity

In everything surrounding me

From the first moment

My eyes could see

My mother's eyes

Looking back at me

My father's smile

The radiant warmth of sunshine

The shade of the grapevine

The refreshing wetness of rain

Sap running down a cherry tree

All these wonders

So beautiful to me

A caterpillar crawling

The fluttering wings of a butterfly

The slippery earthworm that I held

In the palm of my tiny hand

I, building castles in the sand

What a wonderful promise I found

In the colors of the rainbow

Blessing the sky up above

Sanctifying the earth below

It is nice to be remided of those simple things kids today rarely stop to discover. It brought me back. TY
