Can you forgive me

Can you forgive me

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Seven times seventy

Can you forgive me

For loving you

For being blue

For the first time

I walked into

That karaoke bar

For the presence that I felt

From across that neon room

Seven times seventy

Can you forgive me

Your eyes met mine

For the very first time

Those eyes of emerald green

Such a strange familiar feeling

Came over me

Had we ever met before

Do you recall the dress I wore

As I danced across that floor

Seven times seventy

Can you forgive me

What is your excuse

Shall we call a truce

I've been down this road before

I've felt like this somewhere before

Roll the dice and treat me nice

Roll seven and eleven

I'll meet you in heaven

This poem is specatacular really! I really like your rhyming here and meter. It's good to be reminded of the verse "Seventy times seven." The dice at the end are a contrast to the verse, I do feel the last 3 lines do not belong in some way. It is my own personal feeling. Great writing!!
