The magical forest

The magical forest

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

T here once was a forest filled with magical beings

H orses with the mightiest of wings

E legantly they soared

M agic filled the air

A  forest of creatures with mystical powers

G iant trees that swayed in the breeze

I  was a frog in those days

C allous and crude

A  bit rude

L il rascal I was

F rom a frog to a handsome prince I became

O n those mighty steeds I rode

R iding on the clouds

E nveloping the sky

S tardust in my eyes

T onight I will fly to my sweet princess's rescue

I agree with Sarah. Most of the acrostic poems you hear are very forced, and the sentences are in fragments that don't match up very well. This flowed just like traditional poems, and the point of view and imagery were wonderful. I liked the line 'Stardust in my eyes." I just love the concept of stardust in general, and I think it's cool how you described it as being in your eyes. An interesting concept.

This is fantastic! o= I love fantasy poems so much, and this is beautiful! Great use of description and the narration from a frog/prince's perspective is really original. (: Also, great job using the acrostic without sounding awkward or forced anywhere. Love this! ^_^
