Sleeping with the lights onA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaS leeping with the lights on so afraid of the dark L ingering thoughts of ghostly apparitions E nvading my dreams with hauntings of spirit beings E very evening I lay here in fear so afraid of the dark P eeking out from beneath the cover's of my bed I tremble and shake at thought of what happened here N ot so very long ago death came to this house G hosts of the past they are taunting me
W hilst I lay awake shuddering at thought of it I am afraid to get out of bed to turn on the light T he sounds of silence are broken by an eerie sound H earing the howling winds scream outside my window
T here are shadows floating around my room H overing under the distant light of the moon E vening shadows dancing in dark sillouettes
L aughter, I break out in hysterical laughter I can no longer control my emotions G hosts of the past are taunting me H aunting me T onight S leeping under the covers hiding from what I fear most
O n this stormy night that I too am a ghost N ot so long ago death came to this house © 2008 Deborah Leah KrempaReviews
