A dark dreadful night

A dark dreadful night

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

A  dark dreadful night beckoned me

D ark clouds covered the fullest of moons

A haze of fog i walked through the woods

R oad that led me to an old forgotten cemetery

K eeper he took me and showed me her grave

D ancing thoughts raced through my head

R ecuring visions of her final pleas

E xclaiming how she did not wish to die

A ll of a sudden as I knelt down I felt a gust of wind

D usting my hair as it raised in fright

U nsure of what was happening I tried to run

L egs wouln't move as though they went numb

N ight of the living dead played in my head

I  knew it was her ghost enticing me to set her free

G hastly flashbacks of her untimely demise
H aunt me to this very day as I witnessed her plea

T he executioner was me
